In this week lecture and seminar, I have
learned about how to differentiate between sustainable development and green
building. First of all, let defined what are them.
Sustainable development: "Development
that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs." (United Nations World Commission on
Environment and Development, 1987)
Green building: Using a process of environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout the building life cycle.
Green building: Using a process of environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout the building life cycle.
Before that, I will mix up the sustainable
development with green building and thought both of them are similar. After conducting
the seminar and lecture, I have learnt that green building is just a green
technology involve in the sustainable development. Sustainable development covered
the aspect of environments, social and
economic. As an example, a sustainable development
should encourage the employment rate within the development area I order to
fulfil the economic aspect.
Sustainable development
A successful sustainable development should
take consideration on the people’s needs in current and future. Thus, I have
learned how to implement the sustainable development in our proposed development
at Matilda street. I should consider on the ascept listed in sustainable development before carry out a development to provide better environment for future generation.
